The exclusive responsibility and accountability for the introduction of the euro banknotes and coins and for the withdrawal of the Cyprus pound from circulation lies with the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC).

The aim of the Cash Changeover Plan is to explain the decisions and the action plans adopted by the CBC for the timely acquisition of euro banknotes and coins, for the safe distribution of adequate quantities into the economy, for the facilitation of the public and  enterprises on the exchange of cash and the rapid withdrawal of the Cyprus pound.

The Cash Changeover Plan constitutes an integral part of the Νational Changeover Plan from the pound to the euro.
