| The Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering Activities Law of 2007 |

On 13/12/2007, the House of Representatives enacted the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering Activities Law of 2007 (Law 188(I)2007) by virtue of which the former Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering Activities Laws of 1996-2004 were consolidated, revised and repealed. Under the new Law, which came into force on 1st January, 2008, the Cyprus legislation has been harmonised with the Third European Union's Directive for the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering and terrorist financing (Directive 2005/60/EC).

This law transposes into national legislation the provisions of Directive 2007/64/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 November 2007 on payment services in the internal market.
The law is only available in Greek.
